Recently, Zhu Chunxiu, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, led a Sichuan delegation to Sri Lanka and the Maldives for business investigations, and participated in the South Asia Cooperation and Trade Facilitation Conference and the 2024 China (Sichuan)-SAARC (Sri Lanka) Trade and Investment Cooperation Conference.
The purpose of this business visit is to explore the cooperation opportunities between the company in Sri Lanka and the Maldives in the fields of economic and trade investment, photovoltaic new energy, cultural tourism, etc., and has conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges with local government officials, business representatives and relevant experts, and has an in-depth understanding of the market demand, policy environment and development potential of relevant industries in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
As a representative of outstanding private enterprises in Sichuan, CWPC has become one of the focuses of the conference by virtue of the company's new technologies in the field of new energy and environmental protection, as well as the successful cases and technical strength of waste incineration power generation at home and abroad. During the exhibition, Nehr, Chairman of the Sri Lanka China Investment Promotion Council, Amunugama, Minister of State of the Ministry of Investment Promotion of Sri Lanka, Uddin, President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gilhi Gunawadan, President of the Sri Lanka Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ahmad Nazm, Deputy Speaker of the Republic of Maldives, Saeed, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Maldives, and other political and business figures came to the company's booth to communicate and exchange views on the strength of CWPC.

She said: Sri Lanka and the Maldives have a huge market demand, China has a complete and advanced industrial technology resources and advantages, there is a strong economic complementarity and cooperation space between the two sides, CWPC should give full play to the leading role of Sichuan enterprises, promote more pragmatic cooperation in the field of overseas energy, and wish the two countries enterprises can achieve fruitful cooperation results as soon as possible.

Nihel, Chairman of the Sri Lanka China Investment Promotion Council, said that the Colombo Waste-to-energy Power Plant, a livelihood project built by CWPC in Sri Lanka, is a model project for Chinese-funded enterprises in Sri Lanka. He hopes that more outstanding Chinese-funded enterprises like CWPC will develop cooperation in the local area, and build a new development concept of mutual promotion and cooperation between enterprises of the two countries. He also plans to visit CWPC in September to discuss cooperation projects.
In the future, the company will uphold the new impetus given by the exhibition, continue to deepen the field of new energy and environmental protection, strengthen economic and trade cooperation with South Asia and other regions, and actively participate in the construction of the "One Belt and One Road".
