Mr. Souleymane OUEDRAOGO, General Manager of SONABEL, introduced the current power distribution in Burkina Faso and the financial situation of SONABEL to CWPC. 60% of Burkina Faso's power supply is imported from neighboring countries. In order to ensure the sustained and stable economic growth of Burkina Faso, SONABEL is taking actions to improve the power supply capacity of various communities, optimize the power generation energy structure of Burkina Faso, create employment opportunities, stimulate economic activities, and increase national tax revenue. The realization of this goal requires the support of technical and financial partners such as CWPC.
Chairman Li Renchao, Chief Engineer Li Yuexin and Mr. Souleymane OUEDRAOGO conducted in-depth discussions on the financial model and technical issues of the project. Li Renchao said that CWPC attaches great importance to the cooperation with SONABEL. We hope to help Burkina Faso achieve sustainable development of renewable energy through technological innovation and experience sharing. During the talks, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on several key projects. Burkina Faso is a country dominated by agriculture, and the project of using agricultural waste for biomass power generation is listed as a priority. The cooperation between the two sides aims to promote the development of green economy and achieve sustainable use of resources. In addition, the waste power generation project also became one of the focuses of the meeting. By converting urban waste into electricity, this project will not only help solve environmental problems, but also provide clean energy solutions for local residents. In addition to the above projects, SONABEL and the CWPC team also discussed the joint development of environmentally friendly new energy projects such as gas-steam combined power generation in Burkina Faso to achieve diversification and optimization of the energy structure. This series of discussions marks the joint efforts of both parties in promoting energy transformation in Burkina Faso. SONABEL management expressed appreciation for the meeting and stressed that the cooperation between the two sides will make an important contribution to economic growth and environmental protection in Burkina Faso. Both sides agreed that strengthening cooperation is the key to promoting the implementation of local energy projects and improving the stability of power supply.
